چکیده
Forward osmosis (FO) has received considerable interest for water and energy-related applications in recent years. However, FO not been commercialized yet because of a few reasons. The lack high-performance membrane is one the important barriers. To overcome this issue, novel thin-film composite (TFC) was successfully fabricated via interfacial polymerization with poly-L-lysine incorporated polysulfone substrate (PSf). Compared to pristine PSf substrate, incorporation lysine (ranging 1 – 15 wt.%) meaningfully alternates substrates chemical structure, porosity, contact angle, morphology leading an enhancement -TFC membranes performance. results showed that new higher more hydrophilic, smaller pore size after introduction L-lysine. achieved highest flux at 15% concentration maximum 35 L/m2.h (LMH) comparable specific salt (Js/Jw) 0.002 g/L active layer facing feed side (AL-FS) when 1M NaCl applied as draw solution. increased increasing lysine. addition poly-L-Lysine casting solution resulted porous hydrophilic support layer.

Thin film nanocomposite forward osmosis membrane prepared by graphene oxide embedded PSf substrate
One of the limiting factors in good performance of forward osmosis (FO) membranes is the internal concentration polarization (ICP). To reduce ICP, thin film nanocomposite forward osmosis (TFN-FO) membranes were fabricated by adding different amounts of graphene oxide (GO) nanoplates (0-1 wt. %) to polymer matrix of polysulfone (PSf) substrate. The prepared nanocomposite membranes exhibited both...
